HELLO FRIENDS, MY IT HAS BEEN A WHILE BUT I AM BACK WITH MY REVIEW OF AN AMAZING BOOK THAT I SHOULD HAVE REVIEWED LONG AGO! BELOW IS MY REVIEW OF MATT: MORE THAN WORDS BY HANS M. HIRSCHI, WHO IN MY OPINION, HAS NEVER WRITTEN A CLUNKER! LET'S TAKE A CLOSER LOOK AT MATT!
I PICKED THIS QUOTE FOR THIS BOOK BECAUSE I BELIEVE THAT COMPASSION HAS A HUGE PART TO PLAY IN THIS STORY, AND I WOULDN'T HAVE IT ANY OTHER WAY! BELOW IS MY REVIEW:
Imagine…
…being locked inside your own body, unable to move at will, unable to speak your mind.
Born prematurely and with complications at birth, twenty-three-year-old Matthew Walker is neurologically injured and diagnosed with severe cerebral palsy. Unable to speak or voluntarily move his limbs, Matt depends on around-the-clock care and has never said a word—most people, including his mother, assume he never will. Then one day, Timmy, a new assistant to Matt’s care team, is sitting at the breakfast table with Matt when he notices a couple of regular taps from Matt’s right big toe. Has Matt finally found a way to break out of his involuntary prison?
Matt–More Than Words is the story of a life without that which most of us take for granted: the ability to communicate. It is a story of suffering, abuse, loneliness, family, friendship, love, hope, and—finally—a green light, a future.

If you know me at all you know that I review books that I believe in and love, and Matt is no exception. I will warn you, it will pull at your heartstrings and then some, and it is a hard read but so worth it!
I am a caregiver at my day job so I felt this book in my heart, the struggles that Matt and his mother go through with Matt's severe handicap and Matt's mothers decision that has repercussions that boggle the mind and bruise the soul.
Hans writes in a way that makes you feel the story and I will be the first to tell you that though Matt is not a love story, but a survival story and a story of second chances, it is a story you will be glad you read, a story that will stay with you a while.
Matt is a fighter, and though he goes through unspeakable things and his handicap doesn't allow him to vocalize what is happening to him, Hans still gives him a voice, and this is why Matt captures your heart. I can't go into detail about the story but I can urge you to read it, sometimes we need more than a love story, sometimes we need a story of survival, and you will find just that with this one!
Thank you Hans, for once again giving us more than a story we want, but a story we need.
I HAD TO GIVE THIS BOOK THE 5 COMPASSION RATING, YOU WILL SEE WHY! BELOW ARE THE BEATEN TRACK PUBLISHING AND AMAZON BUY LINKS, GRAB THIS BOOK TODAY!
THANKS SO MUCH FOR JOINING ME FOR MY REVIEW OF MATT MORE THAN WORDS, SEE YOU NEXT TIME!
