Zac never had a family of his own, but Rudy has enough to share.

Shy, inexperienced Rudy has a crush on Zac from the moment his new colleague walks through the door. On an office night out before Christmas, Rudy finds the courage to make a move, and they form a tentative bond. When he discovers Zac will be alone at Christmas, he invites Zac to come home with him.

Zac prefers to keep people at arm’s length. Yet when Rudy offers him a family Christmas it’s impossible to resist. With no parents of his own, Zac is pleasantly surprised to be welcomed by Rudy’s. The only drawback is that everyone assumes they’re a couple. Unwilling to disappoint Rudy’s mum and make Christmas awkward, they decide not to deny it.

It’s not a chore for Zac to pose as Rudy’s boyfriend, but the pretence makes him want things that scare him—things like a real relationship with Rudy. Zac’s suffered enough rejection in his life already and is afraid to risk his heart. If he can get over his past rejection and let Rudy inside his armour, he might get more for Christmas than he ever imagined.

HERE IS GRACE'S REVIEW!!

Review:
Rudy has no relationship experience but from the moment he sees Zac at his office, he’s smitten.  Unfortunately, with his shy demeanor and slightly awkward ways, he doesn’t see a chance of even talking with Zac.  When opportunity strikes, well, let’s just say tequila shots and nerves just don’t mix (and they aren’t pretty the second time around either).
Zac has had a very difficult life and has become very jaded when it comes to anything beyond a one night stand.  His routine outside of work includes the gym to work out and getting his affection from his land lady’s cat or one night stands.  And he’s fine with that as he has learned the hard way that people always leave him if he lets them in.
When the circumstances work out to have Zac traveling with Rudy to Rudy’s family home for the Christmas holidays, it’s a toss-up who is more surprised that Zac actually agreed to it.  Rudy knows he’s already falling for Zac but tries to keep his feelings in check.  As the holiday rolls on, Zac can feel the cracks in his shields growing wider and it definitely doesn’t help when they agree to pretend to be boyfriends in front of Rudy’s family.
Rudy grows to have more faith in himself and confidence in his actions as the story goes on.  Whether it is because Zac shows his interest, he’s more comfortable being surrounded by those he knows loves him or a combination of both, the more open and outspoken Rudy is wonderful to see.  Watching Zac struggle with what he has always done to protect himself and what his heart is now reaching for made him that much more endearing and had me connecting to him more as the story went on.
I truly enjoyed reading this story and getting to know not just Rudy and Zac, but the entire cast of characters.  This book is a very sweet, feel good story with some angst from Zac’s past.  And while the storyline was a bit predictable, I wouldn’t have wanted anything different.  It’s a true Christmas story, complete with HEA and a cute little kitty to boot.

This story definitely earns the 5 Superhero boxers Rating.  Seriously, how could I not?
