Abandoned to freeze to death in a winter forest by his father because of his homosexuality, Jonathan desperately struggles to survive, until he accidentally stumbles upon Dan, who owns a cabin in the woods. Dan has been fighting his own demons since the death of his lover Sean. Having retreated from big city life, he is content to live in solitude, but he never counted on meeting Jonathan. Given the dire circumstances, Dan must set his own needs aside to help Jonathan reclaim his life, but he soon finds that the ghosts of both their pasts won’t die so easily.



I love this author, and I knew he had the ability to get me to turn on the water works with his writing, but man oh man this book broke me and glued me back together! Hans has given us a book that turns on the feels, and they won't be turnin off anytime soon!

 Dan lives alone at his isolated cabin with his dog, and that is just the way he likes it. Still in mourning after his lovers death a year earlier from a tragic accident Dan prefers his own company, so boy is he shocked when he finds a half frozen guy at his door in the middle of winter!

 Jonathan is broken, his father left him alone in the winter woods seemingly to die because he is gay, this hurts more than his body, it hurts his heart. He finds Dan's cabin and finally is able to thaw out! 

 Dan doesn't want to care for anyone, he just wants to be alone with his heartbreak, so why does he find himself wanting to help Jonathan? Can these two men find happiness when the past comes back in the craziest way! 

 Boy will this book give a workout to the tear ducts, you will experience loss, and heartbreak, and then redemption and love right along with these men, not to mention the secrets that get revealed that will make your head spin! Thank you Hans, for yet another book that goes on the brilliant shelf!

Hans M Hirschi (b. 1967) has been writing stories ever since he was a child. Adulthood and the demands of corporate life efficiently put an end to his fictional writing for over twenty years.
