I LOVE THIS QUOTE FOR SWEET, DETERMINED MARK! HERE IS MY REVIEW:
Sinders and Ash (Pennymaker Tales 1) by: Tara Lain
reviewed by: Becky
Housekeeper Mark Sintorella (Sinders) works diligently at a resort hotel while designing clothes anonymously, hoping to get into fashion school. Then his carefully planned life is upended with the arrival of Ashford Armitage, son of the fifth richest man in America—and the most beautiful guy Mark has ever seen. Ash must find a wife or he’ll lose his grandfather’s inheritance, and he settles on Bitsy Fanderel. But secretly Ash is gay, and the guy who cleans the fireplaces sets his heart ablaze.
Further stirring the pot is the little elf of a man, Carstairs Pennymaker, who has Mark wearing his own designs and masquerading as a girl to impress the fashion investors in the hotel. When the clock strikes twelve, two beautiful princesses line up for the wedding—but one isn’t a woman. Will the slipper fit? Only Mr. Pennymaker knows for sure.
I love this book, and I am so glad there is a second edition so more people can fall in love with it just like I did! Tara Lain is a master at crafting a story, and this one is no different!
Mark has had a hard life, forced to work as a housekeeper to save up money for design school, he takes the jobs no one else wants to ensure job security. When a wealthy aire turns up at the hotel where he works, so does a sweet strange little man named Mr. Pennymaker.
Mark has never been attracted to anyone like he is to Ashford Armitage, but that doesn't mean he wants Mr. Pennymaker throwing them together, Ash is there to find a wife after all! Mark is a brilliant designer, and when Mr. Pennymaker has an idea to show off one of his creations, Marks life will change forever.
Ash is not happy about having to find a wife, but one day he sees a woman that sparks in him what no other women does, interest! Why is this woman different? Is it a woman at all?
Can Mark and Ash wade through their differences and Ash's need to marry in order to gain his grandfathers money, and be happy? Or will Ash figure out that it isn't money that will make him happy after all?
There are so many elements to this story, and I just touched on a few of them! Thanks Tara for a look at when fairy tales do come true!
