If I had to sum up this book in one word (thank heavens I don't), it would be captivating! This story pulled me in from the beginning, and just like peeling paint from an old Victorian, the author kept revealing hidden layers to build the story into something special!
I fell in love with Marc right off the bat, you can tell he is a wounded soul with a heart of gold. One of the many things I love about this book is the cast of supporting characters, we have some good ones too! You will meet Helena, a character you will not soon forget ;), Lola, and of course Cole among others! These characters are so well written you will come to love them in your own special way!
When Marc comes to Homeport he is looking for a home, but he is not looking for what he finds, which is an odd sort of family! Can Marc overcome his painful past and open his heart to the love of friends, and the love of the man who could be his everything?
Unveiling the past is not easy, no matter if it is years removed or a recent, painful memory, but you will love taking this journey with the people of Homeport Mansion as they do just that! Grab this one friends, it is a journey you will be so glad you took! Thanks AC, for giving us a book that we don't just read, we experience!
