This first book in the Lavender Shores series by Rosalind Abel brings out all the feels.
Andrew knows what he’s looking for and realizes he has his life in a holding pattern, just waiting on the right guy for everything to fall into place. Even with his crazy and amazing family to support him, he is in a comfortable, if a bit lonely, rut. As he spends more time with Joel, he starts to think maybe he’s found his Mr. Right.
Joel has made himself into his father’s son, a cold and shrewd businessman, even though that isn’t who he really is. He is so focused on proving he can handle any job thrown at him by his father, he has locked every personal aspect away only scratching an itch and not allowing it to jeopardize business. Spending time with Andrew, opening himself up to Andrew, fulfills a part of Joel he didn’t know was empty but he can’t figure out how to mesh his new love with his current life.
It is amazing watching their love grow, even over just a few days. But both men have issues they must work through before they can begin to move forward together. And once Andrew realizes he doesn’t need his other half to move forward and live his life, Joel has to find a way to convince him that he is the Mr. Right that will make Andrew’s life complete.
There is so much laughter and so many tears throughout this book. Not only were Andrew and Joel wonderful to get to know, the entire founding family of Lavender Shores promises amazing times in the books to come. This is an amazing start to what is looking to be a great new series!
