The Lunar New Year is the biggest holiday in the Chinese calendar, a time for family reunions, and for saying goodbye to the past and hello to the future. Clint, however, doesn’t want to bid farewell to what happened after last year’s celebration, when he and his Cousin Maggie’s handsome Caucasian friend, Weaver, shared an unexpected but long-desired passionate encounter. East is East and West is West, and Weaver seems to want to keep it that way, but maybe Clint can bridge that great divide this coming New Year, and show Weaver what it means to be loved and accepted.
I loved this short story with a great big heart! You will read this book in one sitting, not because it is a novella, but because you won't be able to put it down, trust me!!
Clint will fast make his way into your heart and stay there, as will his family and their cute little conversations! You will want Clint to be happy, and that means resolving something that has been bugging him for a year.
Seeing Weaver at the family gathering is unsettling for Clint because of what they shared before Weaver left last year after the Lunar New Year gathering, and the fact that though for Clint it was wonderful and meant the world to him, it seemed to mean nothing to Weaver, for he never heard from him again.
Weaver is not as aloof as he may seem, but so much happened in the past year he needed to make his life right before getting in touch with Clint.
Will these two be able to connect as we all see they should, or will old hurts and wounded pride get in the way of what surely is meant to be?
You have to read this book friends, it is a lovely little story that will surely warm your heart! Thanks Atom, for a little novella with a great big story to tell!!
