HEY GUYS, I AM SO EXCITED TO BE A STOP ON THE MM SCAVENGER HUNT! THIS IS A BRILLIANT IDEA! BLOGGERS AND AUTHORS PAIRED UP TO INTERVIEW EACH OTHER!! IT WAS A TON OF FUN, BELOW IS MY INTERVIEW WITH CHRIS McHART AND HER FUN RAPID FIRE QUESTION ANSWERS! I HAVE ALSO PUT A FEW OF HER LINKS IN, YOU SHOULD REALLY CHECK HER OUT! I WILL PUT THE LINK TO HER SCAVENGER HUNT STOP EARLIER IN THE MONTH, AS WELL AS A GIVEAWAY!
LET'S START WITH MY INTERVIEW:
1. Do you think up your characters or stories first?
I have an idea for a storyline first, but it only works with a certain character. So it's both at the same time, actually.
Bec- That makes sense! So you only do it if it gels, that is really smart! :)
2. What is your favorite character you have written?
Sebastian from Small Steps. He's an asshole most of the book, but I love him dearly. He hits rock bottom, and comes back to win Ben's heart.
Bec- What a wonderful book that is!! ( I did promo, now to find time to review :P) I love him too!!
3. What made you decide to write MM?
When I came across my first M/M book by Suzanne Brockman (she writes M/F, with one exception) it was like coming home. These books were what I was looking for. Starting to write M/M was only natural after that. I love romance, but no M/F anymore. That leaves F/F, which I may tackle one day, and my beloved M/M.
Bec- Yep after I read Compromised; Uniformity 1; by Ethan Stone (if you haven't read that series DO IT!! It is brilliant!) it was no looking back for me either!
4. What is the most difficult part of the writing process? The easiest?
Getting my very rough first draft into something resembling a good story. It takes a lot of time and patience, but I need to get out the whole story first, before I can switch to editing it so it's good to read.
The easiest? That depends on the story. With some stories, it's the writing itself, with some it's the editing. Small Steps for example was easy to write, the words just poured out of me.
5. Looking back, is there a character you would change if you could?
Yes, Gerome from the Unexpected Series. He's an arrogant asshole, and since I'm currently writing his story, I'm having a lot of trouble to get him to behave.
Bec- The assholes are the ones I fall in love with and I am so happy when they find someone who makes them be the person that was inside the whole time! They usually have the most heartwrenching story to tell!
