Things weren’t supposed to turn out this way. My story should have been different. Happier. Maybe in another life, it would’ve been. But, life isn’t a fairy tale, and the good guys don’t always win.
I didn’t mean to cause anyone pain. I just wanted to end my own. The letter, his words—crushed me. It seemed as if there was no other way out. Nothing can change what happened, and nothing could have prepared me for what came after those two words: Dear Adam.
This book is about Adam, and his struggle to survive when he doesn't want to after his boyfriend does the unthinkable. This book will resonate with some people like me, who know just what Adam is feeling.
This story is about those left behind, grappling with questions they will never get answers to, and feeling like they want to join their loved one.
What a heartbreaking but important story this is, Adam can survive, if he really wants too. Does Adam have the strength to keep going, or will he want to do what Connor did?
Adam has hard lessons to learn, that are beautiful in the telling and important lessons for everyone, for sometimes even if we don't want to, it is so important to just survive!
Thank you Jaclyn, for having the courage to write this story that so many people need to read, for they, like Adam, can fight to be whole again!
