As the second son, Liam Reed never expected to be a werewolf Alpha. He preferred to develop software for Soft Corp, but when his brother Jason died in a car accident, their father forced Liam to assume leadership of the pack. Liam plans to govern with compassion, instead of ruling through fear, but pack member Bradley Karr undermines Liam’s leadership, biding his time before challenging for Alpha. Tired of pack politics, all Liam wants is to program and find his mate, but he fears that neither is in his future.
When his mate, werewolf Cody Jones, starts working at Soft Corp as Liam’s intern, sparks fly. However, a relationship with Cody could get them both fired for fraternization. And, that's not the worst problem. Cody doesn’t seem to accept Liam as his mate.
Liam’s only chance at happiness is to win Cody over while keeping their relationship a secret. But really, Cody would never stay with an introverted geek like him, an ineffectual Alpha failing to live up to his brother’s legacy. Would he?
I love it when I connect with a character right off, and I did with Liam for sure! I love Kathryn's writing style, and this concept is perfect, I already want the next book!
Liam is stunned to find he is next in line when his brother meets with a tragic fate, he just wants to do his computer codes and live a quiet life, not lead a pack, but he steps up and accepts his new role and all the headaches it entails.
Liam has a girlfriend but he refuses to let it get too serious, because as a shifter, he wants to meet his one true mate, imagine how shocked he is to discover that mate is his new intern, and also a man!
Can Cody and Liam come together as mates, and if so can they reconcile having to hide their relationship? Add in the fact that there is Liam's jilted ex and a co worker that has the major hots for Cody, plus someone who is bent on revenge who is yet to be revealed, these guys have a lot to work through indeed!
Liam and Cody may just realize their relationship is worth fighting through these things and more! Thanks Kathryn, for a fresh new, must read concept in a shifter series!! You guys have to read this one, you will love it as much as I do!
