EXCLUSIVE EXCERPT
“Fuck,” Tanner panted. “You’re fucking good. You’ve been holding out on me. The old Drew would’ve been eating my dust.”
Andrew struggled with the shoulder straps until he was finally able to shove the pack off and onto the ground. He then collapsed back, falling to the grass, and lay staring up at the sky. “I… training… running….” He couldn’t get further than that.
Tanner looked down at him with a big grin. “Okay, so maybe you need a bit more practice.”
“I’m fine.” Andrew stuck with a short sentence and placed his hands behind his head to look at him.
The outdoors suited Tanner. He looked relaxed and happy, judging from the grin and twinkle in his eye.
“You sure? You’re panting like you’re gonna have a heart attack.” Tanner reached across and placed his fingers lightly on Andrew’s throat.
Andrew could feel the throbbing of his own pulse at the point where the tips of Tanner’s fingers skimmed his hot skin. He looked up at Tanner from his position on the ground.
Tanner’s voice was serious as he said slowly, “I think you’ll live.”
Andrew swallowed hard, and Tanner held his gaze for another heartbeat before he moved his fingers. He drew them across Andrew’s skin slowly until they were gone. Strangely, for a fleeting moment, Andrew wished Tanner’s touch was still against his pulse.

ABOUT THE AUTHOR
Nic Starr lives in Australia where she tries to squeeze as much into her busy life as possible. Balancing the demands of a corporate career with raising a family and writing can be challenging but she wouldn't give it up for the world.
Always a reader, the lure of m/m romance was strong and she devoured hundreds of wonderful m/m romance books before eventually realising she had some stories of her own that needed to be told!
When not writing or reading, she loves to spend time with her family-an understanding husband and two beautiful daughters-and is often found indulging in her love of cooking and planning her dream home in the country.
