Frederick
Eugene Feeley Jr’s “Indigent”, after which the anthology takes
its name, brings the reader to witness an apocalyptic war between the
good and evil that rages in one man’s mind. Soon he will know that
his problems are insignificant compared to those of others.
Mari
Evan’s “Stumbling into Forever”, involves a handsome young
vampire who will learn that just a sip of blood is the difference
between love and freezing to death.
Leona
Windwalker’s “If Only the World”, takes rejection to another
level. A heartbreaking story that is turned on its head by the
kindness of strangers.
Shaye
Evans’ “Rescued”, is a contemporary social statement about the
aftermath of a young man’s life after his drink has been spiked at
a bar.
M.
LeAnne Phoenix’s “Higher Love”, takes us on an almost spiritual
journey through the minds of two people who have never met, but have
spoken on a telepathic level. When they do come together, that bond
is already cemented, but there is a price to pay.

HERE IS AN EXCERPT FROM 'IF ONLY THE WORLD' BY LEONA WINDWALKER:
He hurried through the
office door, shutting it behind him.
“Sir?”
“I
don't suppose you know why I called you in here?” His father stood
up from his chair and crossed his arms over his chest. He looked
pointedly at Merle as if he should know the answer but was too stupid
for the answer to even occur to him.
Yeah. You're an asshole
and found something to bitch about. Again.
“No,
sir,” Merle replied neutrally.
“You
should. I just got a call from your Mama.”
From
Mama? What she got to do with anything? Was I supposed to do
something for her?I left her my apartment key so she could let the
guys in when they deliver the washer. Shit! Did I get the day wrong?
Today is the 12th,
right?
“I-I
could have sworn the delivery was supposed to be today...”
His
father impatiently waved that notion away. “That's not the
issue. They've already rang her and were on there way. But your Mama
was mighty surprised to see what kind of 'fun' you got up to over
Labor Day Weekend. I'd let you off thinking it'd be good for a young
man your age to go have a bit of fun, hang out with other young
people your age. I didn't expect to find you were...were cavorting
with perverts.”
Cavorting? Who the hell
even still uses that word? Wait, what? Perverts?
The blood drained from his
face. The pictures. He'd printed off several photos intending to give
the copies to friends in a collage. He'd left them there on the table
trying to decide if it was a lame idea or not, weighing it up against
simply doing the usual thing and uploading them to his private
Twitter feed.
Well, shit. Dumb ass me
didn't think to put them away, oh no.
“I
see you don't deny it. That's good. At least you're an honest
pervert, so maybe there's some hope for you. I love you son, so I
hope you understand this is all for your own good.”
I CAN'T WAIT TO READ THESE, WHO IS GONNA JOIN ME AND SUPPORT COOLDUDES PUBLISHING AND SOME VERY WORTHY CAUSES? THANKS FOR JOINING ME FOR A LOOK AT INDIGENT! SEE YOU NEXT TIME FRIENDS!
