Laydya Valeyrian is a young woman born as the heiress to the Valeyrian Fortress, which comes with an ancient legacy, a prophecy foretold long before her birth and has now come to reality. By her side stands Damen, a huge black phantom, her only companion since childhood; Dougal, her godfather and the one who has trained her to handle a sword better than most men, and Lowen, High Priestess of the Order. When Laydya’s home is almost decimated by an unknown enemy, she is forced to accept her dreams were actually forewarnings she denied, her gifts finally coming to maturity at time when she will need them to survive. Gavilan’s strength as a warrior and Laydya’s determination must be pooled together in order to outwit Kasadim, the Dark Lord of the Order, before he destroys everything Laydya holds dear including the only man she is destined to ever love. Suspenseful and romantic, destiny brings Laydya and Gavilan together in a fight against a madman to end a terror so evil they dare not fail, for everything they hold dear could be destroyed.
This is a book that I dove right into and didn't come up for air until I had to! The way the book opens it sucks you right into the story and the world within it! This book is more about the fight for survival of one very special young woman than it is about romance, but the emotions are there and so very real!
We meet Laydya, a young woman with more power than even she knows, and what I love about her is her iron will and fierce loyalty to those she loves!
Laydya has dreams, which she dismisses, but is forced to admit they were more like predictions when she meets the man in her dreams in the flesh!
This young woman is in for the fight of her life against the dark forces of the Order, and you will be on the edge of your seat waiting to find out if she, and those close to her survive it!
I can't say too much without giving away spoilers, which I hate to do, so what I will say is, this book is magical, the characters are brilliantly written, and the plot is stunning! You need to grab this one friends, you will fall into this world just like it did! Now I can't wait to read book 2 in the series! Thanks BJ, for giving us a book that takes us to a whole other world!
