Ok, first things first, isn't this cover beautiful? Whew, love it! Not suprisingly the book is beautiful as well! Kaevan has my heart right off the bat with how loyal he is to his best friend and coven leader, Mikhail. Mikhail woos his mate Keeley, with Kaevan underfoot, and it is finally time to bring her home, along with her little brother who was born with a defect that affects his joints.
Phelan has already been through so much that when he moves into Mikhail's mansion with Keeley, he shuts himself off emotionally, especially from the sexy vampire who seems to want to eat him alive (like that would be a bad thing ;P ). Then there is Alyn, a vampire feeder who is determined to have Kaevan for himself.
Can Kaevan convince Phelan that even with his scars he is the most beautiful thing he has ever seen? Does he have a chance at happiness with his mate, or will someone who wants him for himself see that they don't have a future?
Get this one friend! It is a lovely story of a sweet young man and a sexy vampire who want nothing more that to be happy with each other! Thanks Dianna, for giving us a short story that has the heart of a long novel!

In one swift blur of movement, Kaevan had his mate flat on his back in the middle of his bed. He kissed and nibbled his way down the length of Phelan's sensitive throat. The vampire soaked up every sexy little whimper his sweet little love released. Phelan's entire body writhed and shuddered underneath his own, and Kaevan's busy hands went to the hem of Phelan's hoodie. His lips only separated from Phelan's skin long enough to strip both his shirt and jacket from his sexy body. Phelan flushed red to the tips of his ears and tried to roll out and away from under his lover. But Kaevan wasn't having it. "What's the matter baby, am going too fast for you,I’m sorry, and it’s just..." "No...No it's my scars, they’re ugly." Phelan whispered and tried to wiggle his way out again to hide himself, so when Kaevan applied a little bit more pressure than he usually would to keep him in place, his shocked gaze flew up to those of his man.
Phelan released a surprised gasp at the hard line of Kaevan's lips and the intense almost furious gaze burning into his face. "There. Is. Nothing. About. You. That. Is. Ugly." He punctuated, "Never let me hear you say that again." Kaevan continued to growl. Phelan was stiff as a board in his arms and he nodded his head to agree with him. Kaevan hated that he made his mate uncomfortable, but he hated it more to hear his love putting himself down for something that was never in his control. So he softened his features and decided to show Phelan just how stunningly beautiful he really was. The larger man adjusted himself over his mate and he used his knees to slip himself in between Phelan's trembling thighs to create an opening to settle himself into. The cool air hit his exposed balls and Kaevan mentally groaned as he lowered his head to place a soft kiss first on one scarred shoulder and then the other. The surgeries to correct his joints left multiple scars all over Phelan's skin like battle wounds.
