WORLDS AWAY REVIEW!!

HEY GUYS, I'M HERE WITH MY REVIEW OF WORLDS AWAY BY ALEXA LAND! I AM SO IN LOVE WITH THE MOST RECENT OFFERING IN HER FIRSTS & FOREVER SERIES AND I KNOW IF YOU HAVE READ IT YOU ARE TOO! BELOW IS MY REVIEW AND THE LINK, SO LET'S TAKE A LOOK!

THIS QUOTE IS SO PERFECT FOR THIS STORY! HERE IS MY REVIEW:

Worlds Away
The Firsts & Forever Series
by: Alexa Land
reviewed by: Becky

Does love stand a chance between two men from different worlds, when they’re both being pulled in opposite directions?

Sawyer MacNeil is looking for answers. His time in the Army didn’t go as planned, and he’s still reeling from the end of a relationship that never should have happened in the first place. Now he’s trying to get his life together, while struggling to come to terms with a side of himself he’s always kept hidden.

Sparks fly when Sawyer meets Alastair, an upper-class British graduate student whose future has been mapped out since birth. Alastair can’t promise anything more than a hook-up. He doesn’t have much time left in the States, and a mountain of responsibility and a disapproving family are waiting for him back in the UK. And yet, whatever’s happening between them feels like so much more than a fling.

When tragedy strikes and the two are separated just days after meeting, will Sawyer risk everything to follow his heart?

Everyone knows how much I love the Firsts & Forever series, and one of the main reasons I love it is that every book has a different vibe but the common theme of love and acceptance! I don't know how Alexa Land ties all the books together so well, while giving each couple the story they deserve, but she does it oh so well!

Sawyer has a secret, a secret that he wonders if Alistair, the guy he is crushing on hard, will understand, but he might be surprised! When it looks like everything is going to go swimmingly, Alistair's world comes crashing down and he must return to England.

Sawyer wants to believe that Alistair will be able to come back to the States, but in all truth, that's looking less and less likely, how far will Sawyer go to make it work with the man he loves? Will it work, or will obligations beat out love for Alistair?

This book is amazing for sure, and if you haven't read it do so right this minute! Thanks Alexa, for another amazing story in one of my favorite series!

the 5 black and white awning rating :)

ACCUSED REVIEW WITH GIVEAWAY!!!

HELLO GUYS, I'M HERE WITH MY REVIEW OF ACCUSED, THE TALANI TRADE ALLIANCE 1 BY LEONA WINDWALKER, AND BOY DID I LOVE IT! LOOK BELOW FOR MY REVIEW AND EVEN A GIVEAWAY! LET'S GET STARTED:

THIS QUOTE IS PERFECT FOR THIS BOOK, TRUST ME!! HERE IS MY REVIEW:

Accused
 Talani Trade Alliance 1
by: Leona Windwalker
reviewed by: Becky

Matthias Reynolds loves his life. He's starting to make it as a graphic artist at last and has a job he really likes at a local café that pays the bills. When a night out clubbing leads to an awkward morning after, he's embarrassed and more than ready to forget all about it. When Talani Enforcers show up at the café, he doesn't know what to make of it all as he's led away in restraints.

Standing accused of crimes he struggles to understand, he finds he has an unexpected champion: the Talani warrior and war hero J'nah Quislin. J'nah knows that Matty is his. All J'nah has to do is keep Matty safe from those who engineered Matty's charges and sentencing. That, and get Matty to accept that universe always intended them to be together as one. All it requires is for Matty to return J'nah's devotion and offer his willing submission. Can Matty do it, with all that it will mean for his future?

I must start this review with an admission, I am not a huge sci fi fan, I usually feel like I can't relate to different worlds and sometimes the story lines don't grab me. I am happy to say that I have really loved a handful of Sci Fi stories, and this is one of them! I was sucked into this story from the beginning!

Matty is getting over an awkward morning after with his best friend when he is arrested by the Talani and forced into a service that is more than shocking in nature! Matty meets J'Nah, the Talani War Hero and his 'employer' and the chemistry between them convinces Matty this may not turn out to be a bad life after all!

There are forces at work against them though, can these two make it through the trails that are to come? Will Matty be relieved of the charges against him? If so will he leave J'Nah and their future?

Read this book guys, even if sci-fi isn't your normal thing, believe me when I tell you, you will fall into this book and not want it to end! Thanks Leona, for making me a believer in The Talani Trade Alliance series, I can't wait for the next one!

COFFEE, TEA & CHRISTMAS TRADITIONS POST 12: ALEXA LAND!!

I AM REALLY EXCITED FOR POST 12 IN MY COFFEE, TEA &CHRISTMAS TRADITIONS EVENT! LOOK BELOW FOR ALEXA LAND'S WONDERFUL POST AND A PIC OF HER OH SO AWESOME TREE! I ALSO HAVE THE LINK AND BOOK INFO FOR WORLDS AWAY,  THE MOST CURRENT BOOK OF HER FIRSTS & FOREVER SERIES, WHICH JUST WENT LIVE HOURS AGO!!! HAPPY RELEASE DAY ALEXA AND ENJOY THE POST GUYS!!!

There’s a Death Star on top of my tree this year. It was my son’s idea, and I gladly went along with it. No, it’s not very traditional, but UNtraditional is my new normal!
I used to decorate the same way each year, with visions of a magazine-perfect Christmas dancing in my head. Everything had to be a vision of loveliness, all ready for its close-up. And frankly, it was exhausting!
But things change. I know I have. When my 20-year marriage ended abruptly in 2013, I had to learn to adapt, in all kinds of ways. That included how I approach the holidays.
Fast forward a few years. My son is thirteen now, and one thing hasn’t changed: I’m all about making the holidays magical for him.
Here’s the thing, friends: kids really don’t care if the tree and decorations look like something out of a magazine. They also don’t care if you spend a million hours in the kitchen cooking and baking for the holiday. And they don’t need a mountain of presents, either.
I opted to do something special and different this year and took my son on a Christmas Disney cruise. We got home late on the 23rd, so you know what? My Christmas cookies came from the bakery. And Christmas dinner is going to be a great, big lasagna. Nope, we’re not Italian and that’s not our tradition, but it’s yummy and I can assemble it ahead of time, while my son is at his dad’s on Christmas Eve. Then all I have to do is just pop it in the oven on Christmas, and I’ll have more time to spend with my kiddo. (
Christmas doesn’t have to be picture-perfect. And you really don’t have to stick to the same traditions year after year if they don’t bring you joy! That Death Star on top of my tree makes me smile every time I look at it. It makes my kiddo smile, too. I call that a holiday win!
Wherever you are and whatever you celebrate, I wish you happiness and the joy of the season!

Fondest Christmas Memories
by Aimee Nicole Walker

As a child, my fondest memory was the annual Christmas party at my Aunt Shirley and Uncle Jim’s house. There was always great food, Christmas music playing in the background, presents for all the kids, but mostly I enjoyed spending time with my all my cousins. Our family was large, rowdy, and very loving. It was the most magical night of the year and it surpassed Christmas morning in my eyes.

I was raised by a single mom, who didn’t make a lot of money or receive very much in way of child support. To this day, I don’t know how my mother made the holidays so special for my brother and me, but she did. It wasn’t about the gifts, but the energy and excitement she exuded during the season. I still have the Johnny Mathis vinyl album she played every year and the ceramic Santa and snowman she painted almost forty years ago. They’re my treasures.

Fast forward to adulthood, Christmas became about making the season as special for my kids as I could. Seeing the wonders of the holiday through the eyes of a child is like experiencing it for the first time all over again. I’ll never forget seeing my babies’ eyes widen in amazement the first time they saw the lights on the Christmas tree or the “hell no” look they gave me when I even thought about sitting them on Santa’s lap.

It was also when I realized just how hard it must’ve been on my mom every year. I didn’t always have the money to buy the things my children wanted so I tried to make everything else about the holiday special – just like she did. If you ask my kids what their favorite memories are, they will tell you it was cuddling with me while watching our favorite Christmas television shows and movies or the cinnamon rolls I made from scratch for breakfast on Christmas morning.

The emphasis and pressure to buy the perfect presents, cook the perfect meal, and be everywhere at once is what we associate with the holiday, but that’s not what our kids will remember. Never miss a chance to make memory with them, because that’s what will resonate with them long after we’re gone.

On a lighter note, I’d like to share with you my favorite memory as sibling if I haven’t bored you to death already. One year, my mom bought me a pair of Garfield roller skates. They were white with orange wheels and had the famous cat stitched on the side. I was so damn excited that I put them on first thing and began to skate around. There I was with arms flailing and legs wobbling as I headed toward where my brother sat on the couch. His eyes got bigger and bigger the closer I came, but he didn’t move out of the way fast enough. I knocked his freshly poured cup of coffee off the arm of the couch where he’d set it and onto his lap. I still haven’t lived it down all these years later.

From my family to yours, Merry Christmas and Happy New Year!

I'm an avid reader and lover of all things romance. I've spent my entire adult life waiting to follow my dreams of becoming a writer. One day this past summer, I decided to just do it. Boxing Day
In the UK, the day after Christmas is also a holiday. The 26th December is called Boxing Day, and as I understand it, it was the day all the masters of the large stately homes gave their servants presents or “boxes.”
Hence the name.
Don’t get me wrong Christmas Day was and is wonderful, but I have a special place in my heart for Boxing Day.
Leftovers!!!!
Yes, Boxing Day was the day you got to eat what you want when you wanted it – no one attempting to force brussel sprouts down your throat or Grandma’s turkey stuffing. (Both my own personal versions of HELL) Me and my brother named it “The Day of Random Relatives” where people either too busy or not important enough to be invited to the main event the day before showed up usually with presents for the kids (me)
Then I moved to the US – YOU DON’T CELEBRATE BOXING DAY!
What the actual f***?
I was gutted. I mean – sure you have holidays we don’t. (The certain one celebrating a war we lost in July obviously springs to mind) but I honestly think this country needs Boxing Day. It needs a day to decompress after Christmas.
2016 has been a horrible year. We lost so many good people, and I’m not even gonna touch what happened in November.
I’m starting a petition.
America NEEDS a boxing day. Who’s with me?
(Taking signatures below)

I WILL SIGN THAT PETITION :) THANKS FOR THE AWESOME POST SUE! CHECK OUT HER BIO AND LINKS BELOW:

Victoria Sue… Wrote her first book on a dare from her hubby two years ago and he says he has regretted it every day since. Loves writing about gorgeous boys loving each other the best—especially with either a paranormal or a historical twist. Had a try at writing contemporary but failed spectacularly when it grew four legs and a tail. Loves her wolves! Is an English northern lass but is currently serving twenty to life in Florida—unfortunately, she spends more time chained to her computer than on a beach. Loves to hear from her readers and can be found most days lurking on Facebook.

COUNTDOWN TO THE HOLIDAYS DAY 34: THE POWER OF PEPPERMINT REVIEW!!

HEY GUYS, THANKS FOR STOPPING BY FOR DAY 34 OF OUT COUNTDOWN TO THE HOLIDAYS! MY GIRL AMY REVIEWED THE POWER OF PEPPERMINT BY L.D.BLAKELEY, AND I HAVE THAT ALONG WITH BUY LINKS SO LET'S TAKE A LOOK!

BOY HOW TRUE IS THIS QUOTE!! HERE IS AMY'S REVIEW!

The Power Of Peppermint
by: L.D. Blakeley
reviewed by: Amy

The most wonderful time of the year?

When Jamison Pritchett is roped into replacing the mall photographer at Santa’s Village a week before Christmas, he’s certain he’ll be spending the holidays recovering from a nervous breakdown. A throng of sugar-frenzied kids might be enough to send this uptight photographer back into the darkroom permanently. Inappropriate thoughts about his far-too-attractive—and far-too-young—assistant aren’t helping fight that urge to hide, either.

For Noah Hawkins, adulting is a snap. Too bad relationships aren’t. With his business temporarily closed for repairs, he’s happy to help his sister out of a jam, even if the costume he’s given to wear borders on obscene. Constantly being mistaken for a teenager is no treat either, especially when he discovers his temporary new co-worker is sexy as hell and 15 years his senior.

Can Noah convince Jamison that age is just a number? Or will Jamison resist the gift Santa seems to be handing him on a platter?

I loved this short story!!  Jamison is a photographer having to pick up the slack of their intern who left them short handed.  Therefore he must take the pictures with Santa at the local mall.   His business partner Abi says she will send help via her brother Noah.   Only Jamison thinks he is a no show and all he has is a teenager dressed as an elf to help him out.  He couldn't have gotten it any more wrong!!

I won't give too much away but Noah and Jamison just clicked after all the misunderstanding is cleared up.  These guys are the perfect match.  I hope this author will write more about them together!!!

Give this story 5 candy cane elf legs!!  It's such a cute story!! Give it a try!!!

HAHA I LOVE THAT RATING! THANKS AMY, WHAT A GREAT REVIEW, CLICK THE LINKS BELOW TO GET YOUR COPY TODAY GUYS!!

COFFEE, TEA & CHRISTMAS TRADITIONS POST 9: ANNABELLA MICHAELS!

HEY GUYS, IT'S TIME FOR POST 9 IN OUR COFFEE, TEA & CHRISTMAS TRADITIONS AND ANNABELLA MICHAELS IS SHARING HER CHRISTMAS TRADITIONS WITH US! IN ADDITION TO THAT I HAVE HER AUTHOR BIO AND SOCIAL LINKS AND THE LINKS TO MY REVIEW OF HER BOOK, MUSIC OF THE SOUL, CHICAGO SOULS 2! I MIGHT EVEN HAVE TEASERS FOR BOOK 3 OF HER CHICAGO SOULS SERIES: PROTECTING THE SOUL! LET'S HAVE A LOOK!!

My husband and I each had many Christmas traditions growing up so when we got married we combined our favorite ones to continue with our own children.
A few of my favorites include having both of our families over for a big Christmas Eve lunch then going to the midnight service at church. I have a beautiful nativity that my mom made for me and baby Jesus is kept in a star until we return from church. We let our children take turns reading the story of His birth and then we place the baby in the nativity.

When the kids get ready for bed they always find that Santa left new pajamas for them on their beds. Christmas Day we take our time opening presents and being with each other before heading to grandma's house for even more fun.
That's a few of the wonderful times I have each year with my family. I want to wish you all a very Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year! ❤️

I LOVE THIS POST! NOW FOR HER BIO AND SOCIAL LINKS!

I am married to my high school sweetheart who let’s face it, is a saint for putting up with me all of these years. Together we have been blessed with the chance to raise two amazing human beings and so far we haven’t screwed it up; I’ll let you know for sure later. I am a business owner and spend more time laughing than actually working most days. I love watching movies, cooking, going to the beach and spending time with my family and best friends. I am an obsessive reader who is a complete sucker for a good love story, but loves to feel a broad range of emotions throughout a book. I think real life is hard enough and so my books offer twists and turns, but always with a happy ending.

COFFEE, TEA & CHRISTMAS TRADITIONS POST 8: JO MOON WILLOW ROSE!!

HEY FRIENDS, IT'S TIME FOR POST 8 IN MY COFFEE, TEA & CHRISTMAS TRADITIONS EVENT AND THIS TIME I HAVE JO MOON WILLOW ROSE AND BOY DO I LOVE THIS POST! IN ADDITION TO THAT WE HAVE AN AUTHOR BIO AND LINKS AND I AM PASTING MY REVIEW OF HER BOOK LOCKED IN THE MOMENT (WRITING AS DAWN SISTER)  FROM THE BEATEN TRACK ANTHOLOGY LOVE UNLOCKED! CHECK IT OUT!!

Nothing says Christmas to me like:

Cream in my coffee. Even though I indulge all year round, Christmas is a time for cream on and in everything, don’t you think?

Lights. Christmas lights. Appropriate Christmas lights. Inappropriate Christmas lights. Over the top Christmas lights. Christmas is for lighting up everything that you just wouldn’t normally draw attention to, such as: your garage door which is in bad need of a coat of paint and has been for the last ten years; the fact that your house is not symmetrical and no amount of rope lighting will make it so; the fact that your adjoining neighbour is just not as into Christmas as you are and therefore, whilst your house is visible from space and is used by the ISS to navigate, your neighbour’s house is in complete darkness; and let’s not forget the “can’t be bothered to put it up straight. No one will notice” lights. Everyone notices, even the people that don’t have OCD. Actually, wonky Christmas lights have been known to bring on an attack of OCD, just like flashing ones affect epilepsy.

School Nativity plays. Thankfully my kids are now both in high school, so therefore we do not have to suffer the hilarity of the school Nativity play but I remember them well. I am a regular church goer so you’d think I’d know how to behave at a religious type gathering. No. Whilst my kids were always desperate for me to sit at the front I would have to hide at the back as I laughed hysterically and my hubby simply shook his head in long suffering silence. There was the year that the teachers, in their wisdom, had asked all the boys to bring in their dressing gowns so they could be shepherds. Kids dressing gowns aren’t just plain brown and blue terry towelling nowadays and there was an array of Ninja Turtles, Marvel Heroes, Minions, and Simpsons present at the birth of Christ that year. How was I supposed to behave and be sensible when faced with such a sight?

And finally, Christmas is the best time for traditions. Amongst our particularly (completely) mad group of friends, a Christmas tradition is something you have done once and enjoyed so much that you SHOULD repeat it every year until the end of time. Thus our Boxing Day Left Over Parties began.

Everyone comes to our house the day after Christmas, dressed in whatever the hell they want, in order to eat all the Christmas leftovers.  We began this tradition at someone else’s house, but for some reason or other it ended up happening here every year.

We are not the best party hosts, so it’s a do it yourself affair. Not only do you have to bring your own beer, but your own food and your own entertainment, although watching us all struggle our way through a ton of leftover sprouts and my famous Christmas Leftover Soup (complete with more sprouts) is fully entertainment enough.

Dawn is from the North East of England. Her life is spent juggling. The juggling balls are: children, husband, work (occasionally), voluntary work, professional knitting (notice she doesn't class this as work), and writing. When she has time she actually sleeps.

The whole point of writing for Dawn is just to get it all off her chest and out of her head. If she doesn't write it down then she ends up having long conversations with the characters out loud and her husband thinks she's crazy.

I like chocolate, coffee and donuts, sometimes all at the same time.
I love evenings around a campfire singing in the company of good friends.
I like listening to the dawn chorus even if I’ve been awake all night.
I like reading stories with characters that are filled with hope even in their darkest hours.
I like happy endings.
I write M/M Romance (with happy endings of course).

LOCKED IN THE MOMENT by DAWN SISTER

Due to a misunderstanding, the troll that lives underneath one of the most romantic bridges in Paris inadvertently unlocks every single padlock lovers have left there over the years. L’Authoritié de Fée Folklorique are up in arms. He has no idea what all the fuss is about. The noise was driving him mad. He just wanted a bit of peace and quiet.

A spell is cast, leaving the troll in a bit of a predicament. He is charged with the seemingly impossible task of fixing the locks before the spell can be reversed and he is allowed to return to his home. There are other complications, the least of which is the insistence and persistence of a fairy who is determined to help him against the wishes of his own people.

Now the troll has a dilemma. What is more important to him? The only home he has known for two thousand years, or a fairy he has just met?

Sol is a troll who just wants to sleep in peace, but when he unlocks all the locks on the bridge without meaning to, boy does he set off a fire storm, and possibly the path to his happy ever after!

Lucien is an Fairy, a very delightful very endearing fairy, and he sees what other don't in Sol, he sees past the grumpy troll to the heart of gold beneath, can a Fairy and a Troll live happily ever after? Especially when someone very powerful doesn't seem to want them to?

the 5 pink ice cream rating :)
