DIRTY ANGEL REVIEW!!

HELLO FRIENDS, I AM HERE WITH MY REVIEW OF BARBARA ELSBORG'S NEWEST BOOK: DIRTY ANGEL, AND MAN IS IT FANTASTIC! LOOK BELOW FOR MY REVIEW AND LINKS TO THIS BOOK! LET'S GET TO IT!!

I THINK BOTH OF THE MEN CAN SAY THIS TO EACH OTHER! HERE IS MY REVIEW:

Dirty Angel
by: Barbara Elsborg
reviewed by: Becky

Dying Sucks

Particularly when you discover there really is a hell. Aden thinks there’s no way he can avoid going down, but when an angel and demon can’t agree over his fate, Aden is given one more month to gain redemption. He doubts he can find a way to become a better man in so short a time. But it’s worth a try, right?

Living sucks
Particularly when you can’t shake free of an obsessive ex. Brody might be managing to hold down his job as a vet, but his personal life is a mess. If he doesn’t pull himself together soon, he’s going to be sliding downhill too fast to stop.

One wet night, on a dark country lane, two worlds collide and destinies change forever.

I knew I would love this story because of who wrote it, but I didn't know that even Barbara Elsborg could make me feel this much emotion in one book! I ran the gamut, from happy and hopeful to crushed and crying and back again! You should really read it! :P This is a book you can't miss for real!!

Aden dies doing the right thing for maybe not all the right reasons, now an angel and demon both think he should go with them! He is given a month back on earth to prove where he should spend eternity, well how does a guy go about doing that?

Brody is a vet and he loves his job, what he doesn't love is having to run from his nightmare of an ex all the time, can Brody stay away from Matt for good this time?

When these two meet, or should I say body meets car, they might just realize they are just what each other needs! Can Brody and Aden convince each other that they are both worthy of a happy life?

This story is like an onion, meaning the more layers you peel back from these two lovely but broken men, the more you will cry! This is a story that you will be glad you read and it won't leave you hanging! Thank you Barbara, for yet another wonderful story I won't soon forget!

BLURB
A double shot of devastating news turns Justin Evanson’s life upside down. When he learns his father has cancer, and he has siblings he never knew existed, he leaves everything behind and moves to Virginia to support his dad as he tries to make amends with his family—a family Justin’s not sure he has a place in. Things go from bad to worse when he discovers his recent hookup is his newfound sister’s brother-in-law.
Drew Sinclair never expected to see Justin after their night at the club or to discover their family connection. If anyone found out, it would give Drew’s brother another reason to hate him. But there’s something about Justin that draws him in, and it’s not only because they burn up the sheets together.
One meeting leads to another, and before Justin realizes it, Drew has become the only thing in his world he feels is his. And for the first time in his life, Drew knows what it means to be needed. Being there for Justin and supporting him when things spiral out of control feels right. But with so much happening so quickly, it’s hard to trust their feelings. Is this thing between them real? Or just a test drive before life forces them down two separate roads?

HERE IS MY REVIEW OF TEST DRIVE GUYS, YOU WILL LOVE IT!

THIS QUOTE SUMS UP PERFECTLY WHAT DREW IS TO JUSTIN! HERE IS MY REVIEW:

I love Riley Hart, and this series is brilliant! I was taken with Justin and Drew and devoured their story!

Justin feels betrayed when he finds out his dad had a whole other family that Justin knew nothing about. Justin's dad is very ill with cancer so they uproot their lives and go to find a family that Justin didn't know he had, but what kind of reception will they get?

Justin wasn't planning on finding someone, but Drew pushes all his buttons and then some, but when they find out after a steamy night together that they have  a family connection by marriage, it is evident that Drew is hiding who he really is from his family.

Can Drew learn to be himself and proud of it, or will his need to not anger his brother cause him to push away the best thing that has ever happened to him?

This is a story of love, forgiveness and living for yourself and what you want and no one could have written it better! Thanks Riley, for another great book in this series!

the 5 'Dick Cards' rating :)

EXCERPT
Justin made his way toward his… brother and Landon gave him a quick nod.

“Is this as weird for you as it is for me?” Landon asked.

Justin exhaled. “Yes. Christ. I didn’t expect it to be.” Which didn’t make sense. Of course it would be strange. They were a mismatched family, celebrating his father’s birthday when the man looked like he would pass out at any second.

“What? How could you not expect this to be uncomfortable? Hell, I’m just Landon’s boyfriend and it’s even awkward for me,” Rod said, and Justin glanced up to see Landon lovingly roll his eyes, before he wrapped an arm around Rod’s shoulders and pulled him close. Rod was smaller than Landon. He wore black eyeliner that made his eyes stand out.

“Please, don’t hold back for us,” Landon replied.

“I wouldn’t think of it,” was Rod’s response, but Justin thought he knew what Rod was doing. He wanted to make Landon laugh, wanted to take the edge off, and he found himself grateful that Landon hadn’t let the fact that Rod found out about Justin and his dad before Landon did come between them. They were a strong couple. You could see the love between them.

The three of them chatted for a few minutes before Rod excused himself for the restroom.

“I should probably go talk to him.” Landon crossed his arms and leaned against the wall. There was no doubt in Justin’s mind whom he was speaking about.

“I know he’d like that. I get that it’s hard, though.”

Landon turned his way. “What do I say? Jesus, it’s really shitty that I don’t know how to talk to my own dad.”

Anger burned through Justin’s insides. He was angry at their dad for putting them all in this situation. How hard would it have been to tell Justin and his mom about Shanen and Landon? To be a father to them, too? He bit back the anger and said, “Hi. Happy Birthday. Anything will do.”

Landon didn’t move, though. He eyed their father on the other side of the room. Justin followed his stare, which is how he saw the man walk in. But not just any man. Drew. The guy he met in a club the night Shanen got married. His brows pulled together. What in the hell was he doing here? Because this wasn’t awkward enough without the guy he wanted to fuck obviously knowing Shanen. “Ah, hell. I think I jerked off in a club with the guy who just walked in.”

“What?” Landon’s voice actually cracked on the word. He looked from Justin, to Drew, and back to Justin again. His gut sank, and he was pretty sure he should have kept his mouth shut because this was about to get a whole lot worse. “That’s Shanen’s brother-in-law. He’s Jacob’s brother, and I’m pretty sure Shanen would have told me if he wasn’t straight. I know he’s not close with Jacob, but she would have thought it was coincidence enough if she married a man with a gay or bisexual brother.”

Oh fuck. Damn it all to hell.

Justin tried to hide his shock. He looked at Drew again, studied him—the scruff on his face, that jaw and those fucking lips—of course it was really who he thought it was. Still, he said the first lie that popped into his head. “Shit. That’s not him. Hair’s not right and I’d remember that mouth anywhere.” Which was true. It was the first thing he’d noticed.

Wasn’t this just perfect? He’d come here to get to know his family, and out of all the men in Virginia, he’d somehow ended up jacking off with his sister’s husband’s brother, who was obviously in the closet.

The brother of the year award definitely wasn’t going to him.

Landon eyed him, skepticism in his eyes. Before he could say anything, Rod stepped back up and wrapped his arms around Landon.

“What did I miss?”

WHAT WHO WRITES IS READING WITH JACLYN OSBORN!!

HEY FRIENDS, I AM SO EXCITED TO BE BRINGING BACK WHAT WHO WRITES IS READING AND I HAVE THE PERFECT AUTHOR TO KICK OFF IT'S RETURN! LOOK BELOW TO FIND OUT WHAT JACLYN OSBORN IS READING WHEN SHE ISN'T BUSY WRITING ABOUT HER SEXY MEN!! :) YOU WILL LOVE THIS POST, I HAVE INCLUDED THE BOOK LINK THAT SHE TALKS ABOUT SO YOU CAN CHECK IT OUT IF YOU DON'T HAVE IT, AND SOME LINKS FOR JACLYN! ENJOY!!

JACLYN'S POST:

Asking me to pick a favorite book is like asking me to pick a favorite song. There are so many that speak to me in different ways; some of them having provided me an escape to somewhere else through low points in life and others that gave me that lovey dovey, power of true love feeling. I’m a picky reader. If there’s too many descriptive sex scenes over and over, I get bored (crazy, right? But it’s true.) The author’s writing style can also make or break the book for me, too.
So, if I had to pick a favorite MM book, I’d pick “Something from Nothing” by Nicky James. That book had it ALL for me. Anyone who knows me knows that I’m a huge Renaissance Faire nerd who loves all things medieval. Well, Nicky James’s book was exactly that. It had the slightly arrogant, dominating King who meets a smart mouthed street rat named Brandon who treats him like no one else has before. Not only is the writing beautiful and flows very well, but the characters are also so relatable and real. I wanted to crawl inside the book and live there in the world Ms. James created.

With sword fighting, bantering between the two main characters, taverns and lots of drinking, an impending war with outsiders, and true love, “Something from Nothing” made it to the top of my list for favorite book.

OK I ADMIT I HAVEN'T READ THIS, BUT AFTER THAT POST HOW COULD I NOT? BELOW IS THE AMAZON LINK FOR SOMETHING FROM NOTHING!

A man Nico once knew returns, and Nico wishes he'd never caught up with Lyle. His ploy to keep Lyle away from Ryan fails and Lyle tells all about his previous connection to Nico. Ryan takes off, leaving no clues as to where he's gone and Nico is devastated believing that Ryan has left him.

When Ryan finally returns home; so does his past and he is forced to visit an old friend. But things are not what they seem and Ryan must fight as hard as he can to keep himself safe.

Maybe the perfect life with a happy ever after just isn't in the cards for Ryan and Nico after all.

Reading this may seriously raise your blood pressure, contains lots of hot scenes of sex between two men and has strong language throughout

This book is intended for 18+ readers.

The evening is drawing in and we have in fact done exactly what Nico wanted, we have spent the day naked and in bed. The sex has been off the charts I can feel my body humming with content and satisfaction, I think we have both dozed in and out of sleep but I know I’ll get fidgety if I don’t do something.

“C’mon babe, I need to do something.” I nudge Nico, he’s lying on his stomach with his hands under the pillow, I know he’s not sleeping but he’s not far away. “Nicky, come on let’s go out to eat.”

Lifting his head up I laugh at the scowl crossing his face.

“Really? You want to go out, what happened to naked day?” Lifting his head from the pillow just to check if I’m messing with him.

Seconds later I’m out and walk into my bedroom still drying my skin, looking up to see him sitting in my bed with a pillow behind him as he leans against the wooden head board, my mouth goes dry. “You look good there lover.”

“You don’t look too bad either. So are you going to stand there ogling me or are you going to help with do something with this?” His hand pushes the duvet down from his stomach giving me a perfect view of his hard dick.

I’m a slightly crazy one-click addict that writes the thoughts that run through my head.

I love a good love story and always want a happy ending.

I live quietly in the Lincolnshire countryside, with my own heart-throb and my crazy dog.

SHORT STAY BLOG TOUR STOP!!

I LOVE LOVE LOVE THE LOVE LESSONS SERIES BY HEIDI CULLINAN, AND WHEN I HEARD THERE WOULD BE A SHORT OF BAZ AND ELIJAH I WENT CRAZY! WOO HOO HOW EXCITING, AND THIS BOOK DIDN'T DISAPPOINT! LOOK BELOW FOR MY REVIEW, LINKS, AN EXCERPT AND EVEN A GIVEAWAY! LET'S GET STARTED!

THIS QUOTE IS SO PERFECT FOR THIS STORY IT MAKES ME TEAR UP! HERE IS MY REVIEW:

Short Stay
Love Lessons 3.5
by: Heidi Cullinan
reviewed by: Becky

Baz Acker and Elijah Prince have it all. They’re engaged, and their wedding is guaranteed to be a spectacle no event will ever top. So why are they hunkered down in a quiet corner of the Acker mansion, restless and edgy while they wait out the holidays?

When Baz suggests a road trip with Walter and Kelly to Las Vegas, it sounds like an ideal escape, but it turns out Vegas only amplifies their unease. Elijah can’t slough off the self-hating his parents programmed into him, and he worries how that will affect his marriage. Baz, crippled en route because of too much time spent in the car without rest, must face the truth that his wealth and influence can’t always counteract the limits his disability will put on his—and Elijah’s—life.

With help from their friends, a wily poker player, a take-no-prisoners drag queen, and a smooth-talking casino owner, they face the truth that happiness is a state of mind, not a destination where they book a stay. What happens in Vegas won’t stay in Vegas—it will follow them all the way down the aisle.

If we thought Elijah and Baz's story was done in Lonely Heart's , happily we were wrong! There are a few things these guys have to work out, not the least of which is how uncomfortable Elijah feels with Baz's family's huge gatherings!

When Elijah becomes so freaked out about a holiday party that is sure to be huge, Baz can't help but see his unease, so he suggests a getaway, just him, Elijah and Walter and Kelly to Las Vegas, sure that that will ease the tension surrounding them.

Once in Vegas insecurities brew and these two can't help but turn to old habits, Elijah starts worrying that his bible thumping parents were right about him and he isn't good enough for Baz, and Baz worries that he is broken and Elijah will not want him for the long haul.

Will these two be able to realize how perfect they are for each other? That no one or nothing can keep them from being truly happy but themselves? You will love this book for what it is, the perfect compliment to the perfect series. You may even see a few characters cross over from another series!!! :) Thanks Heidi, for the lovely little treat that is Short Stay!

                                                   the 5 Titanium rating :)

I DID THIS RATING IN HONOR OF BAZ'S FAVORITE SONG! HERE ARE THE LINKS FOLLOWED BY AN EXCERPT:

Watching his fiancé retreat into a silent freak-out was breaking Baz Acker’s heart one sliver at a time.
It killed him to watch Elijah become more tense with every passing hour while at the same time lying his face off each time Baz tried to get him to open up. Baz wasn’t an idiot. He knew it was his family’s place, and his family—his mother in particular—making Elijah nervous. He knew the wedding planning had him jittery—hell, Baz wasn’t enjoying it either, not the way his mother was running the show. Baz longed to vent his frustration over his mother’s machinations with Elijah, but when he tried, his fiancé shut him out. Then continued to silently freak out.
Forget the New Year’s Eve party. Baz worried his fiancé wouldn’t make it down the aisle.
He did his best to reason with his mother. He’d drawn her aside when he knew Elijah was lost in a book up in their suite and asked her to please stop upsetting Elijah. Unsurprisingly, she didn’t understand. Baz had no idea how to explain to his mother her idea of casual was still insane to most people on the planet. It became clear the only way to keep the New Year’s Eve gala from turning Elijah into a gibbering puddle was for them to skip it entirely.
“I think we should sit this party out, maybe. You can have an engagement party for us another time. Something smaller. Less pressure.”
“Oh, you can’t possibly miss the party! Everyone’s counting on seeing you and Elijah.” Gloria’s gaze took on her politician glint as new plots unfolded in her mind. “But the engagement party is a wonderful idea. We can have it at the country club. Something casual. I’ll have Blue Plate cater—they did Elsbeth Wesley’s daughter’s wedding last year, and it was perfect. A quartet playing discreetly off to the side. Or we could have it at the marina. All that natural light, and the boats and the lake in the background.”
Baz listened while her “simple” party spiraled out of control for a few minutes, then excused himself to hide in the darkened theater room, take off his glasses, and call Marius.
His best friend, blessedly, answered on the second ring, Marius’s low voice rumbling in his ear. “Hey, man. How’s it going?”
Baz tipped his head against the wall and shut his eyes. “My mom is off the rails. She’s going to drive Elijah away.”
“Oh, the New Year’s Eve gala. Man, I’m so sorry.”
Baz snorted. “New Year’s Eve party, and an engagement party too, now. I accidentally lit that fire while I tried to extract us from the New Year’s thing.”
“Why don’t you guys skip?”
“She insisted we can’t possibly miss it.”
Marius sighed. “Baz, you’re a grown man. You’re even graduated from college now. You are physically and legally capable of leaving your parents’ house.”
“Yeah, so long as I have someone to drive me.”
“You do. Elijah. Pack your bags and go home to St. Timothy. Have yourself a private celebration at the White House.”
Baz didn’t want to go to their college communal living space, because three-quarters of the commune was at home for break. He’d never been fond of the White House empty. “We need to go somewhere with more fire to it. I’m afraid if we’re left alone, we’ll fuck up.”
“You won’t fuck up. You’ll argue, you’ll fight, you’ll have sex and make up.”
“I don’t want to fight and argue.”
“You seriously misunderstand your relationship with your fiancé.”
That made Baz smile despite himself. “I mean, I want us to be able to connect. The White House is about college and our friends. We need somewhere clean.”
“Go downtown and get a hotel. Weren’t you spending the holiday with Walter and Kelly? Invite them along.”
“I don’t think Kelly could handle a foursome.”
Now Marius laughed, low and rumbling. “You know what I mean.”
Baz liked the idea of the downtown hotel, but it felt dangerously too close to his mother. “I need to be somewhere she can’t send a car service to fetch me.”
“When your parents can afford charter planes, it’s a tall order. But I know what you mean. So pick somewhere else. What about New York?”
“Too many people in Times Square. Plus, it’s cold.”
“Then go to Disney World.”
“Elijah will kick you in the shin when he hears you suggested that.”
“For fuck’s sake. Pick something else. We live in a huge country. I imagine you could find a city with a hotel within driving distance where you can hide out from your mother and connect with Elijah. Somewhere that wouldn’t inspire him to roll his eyes.”
Marius seriously underestimated Elijah’s ability to dismiss Baz’s ideas. “I’ll think about it. There’s got to be somewhere we could go.”
He did think about it for the rest of the day and all through the night, lying awake as he wracked his brain trying to come up with the perfect place to take Elijah on a New Year’s Eve escape. When he realized he wasn’t going to sleep until he came up with something, he got out of bed, put his contacts back in and his lightest sunglasses on, and padded into the sitting room of their bedroom suite to fire up the computer.
Even before he opened a browser, however, the glinting of the small Christmas tree his mother had put on a side table caught his eye. The lights, turning on and off, running in sequence. Multicolored, flashing lights, filling the space.
The idea formed in Baz’s mind, expanding slowly. He let it bloom a moment, testing it out, kicking it around, looking for Elijah-sarcasm holes.
When he couldn’t find any, he smiled and shut the computer. Then he went to his mother’s study to tell her the bad news.

SHUT YOUR FACE ANTHONY PACE RELEASE DAY REVIEW!!

I LOVE THESE TWO AUTHORS, AND I KNOW WHEN I READ ONE OF THEIR STORIES I AM GONNA LOVE IT, AND I ALWAYS DO! BELOW IS MY REVIEW OF SHUT YOUR FACE ANTHONY PACE (LOVE THAT TITLE) WITH LINKS, SO LET'S GET TO IT!

I LOVE THIS QUOTE FOR THIS BOOK, BELIEVE ME IT'S PERFECT! HERE IS MY REVIEW:

Shut Your Face Anthony Pace
by: Claire Davis & Al Stewart
reviewed by: Becky

When Charlie was eight years old, his mum bought him a microscope for his birthday. Since then, he's known how he wants to spend his life. There have been trials, and challenges, but now - finally - the day is here for him to start college with his lifelong friend Anthony Pace.

Anthony is a red-haired force of nature. He writes poetry about their enemies and eagerly participates in all Charlie's science experiments without understanding a word. Every morning, he waits at the end of their street so they can get the bus together.

But things are changing.

Families are important, and complex. Charlie's mum hasn't been well, and his relationship with Anthony begins to shine like a different star in the sky.

Can everything come together in this explosion of physics and chemicals that Charlie calls life? Will Anthony Pace ever share his poems with the world, and can the Chihuahua, Princess Arabella, ever learn to stop licking?

Claire and Al really know how to write a story that reveals itself in layers, giving you little surprises here and there and keeping you on your toes in the best way possible! This is one of the many reasons I love this writing duo, and Shut Your Face Anthony Pace is a perfect example of this!

Oh how I love sweet Charlie! He struggles through every day with his mother who is forgetting more and more all the time, and yet he does it with a quiet grace you will come to love him for.

Charlie's best friend Anthony is one of the only bright spots in his life, that and the fact that he will finally be starting collage, but everything is changing, his mother's health and even his relationship with Anthony. Charlie doesn't have all the answers, but can he learn to go with the flow and realize that life is what you make it?

Charlie is dealing with a lot, even more than people know, he will need Anthony and his family more than ever! These two sweet boys will capture your heart just like they did mine! Thanks Al & Claire, for yet another wonderful story I will surely read again!
